Julius Ludwig Rothweil planned the simple baroque building, which was built between 1735 and 1787 and is now known as the Protestant town church in Bad Arolsen.

The foundation stone was laid on August 16, 1735, a gold and silver coin, a Bible, Luther's catechism and the Waldeck church order from 1730 were walled in.

The Arolser carpenter Johann Wilhelm Kaulbach was responsible for the interior of the church, such as the wooden altar table and the pulpit.

The organ brochure is from the court sculptor Marcus Christoph Krau from 1782.

The court plasterer Johann Micheal Brühl from Kassel already made the Rococo stucco work in the vaulted ceiling in 1776.

The three white marble figures, which represent the Christian virtues of faith, love and hope, are a gift from the sculptor Christian Daniel Rauch, born in Arolsen, from 1842 to 1852.
