The Elisabeth Hospital in Thuine looks back on a long tradition. It has been officially run as a hospital since February 6, 1912. Over the decades, it has developed from a very small, village hospital in southern Emsland near Lingen into a modern facility for basic and standard care with departments for surgery, internal medicine, anaesthesia/intensive care medicine, the gynecological ward as well an in-house ophthalmology practice. The Elisabeth Hospital has retained its special charm and its connection with the rural population over the years and despite all modernization.

Last but not least, this is certainly due to the Thuin Franciscan Sisters, who ran the hospital until 2017. The mother house of the sisters is directly opposite the hospital and invites you to visit and linger with its impressive Christ the King Church. (Source: Hospital website)
