The first mentions of Czarnów come from the 10th-11th centuries as a settlement from the Pyrzyczanie tribe. According to legend, the first owner of the settlement was the knight Blankenburg, who built a castle there, demolished over time. The lands of today's Czarnowo bordered on Brandenburg, so they were often the object of invasions and destruction. From 1322, the village belonged to the city of Pyrzyce. Its previous names were Czernow and Cerno. After the destruction during the Thirty Years' War, it began to be rebuilt, starting in 1647
