The Schiffbrückenplatz was originally a landing stage for ships. Due to the construction of the Kiel Canal, the water level dropped so much that the rivers in the city area dried up. So they were used as streets and squares. Today, the square invites you to go shopping and to linger on benches at its edge. A signpost shows the directions and distances to Rendsburg's twin towns. -
