    This conservation area protects critical habitat for the Mojave Desert tortoise and endangered native fish. It's also a haven for migratory birds.

    Perhaps more urgently for us two-legged folk, the stunning cliffs here hold exposures of Jurassic-age stone, rich with dinosaur tracks, bone beds, petrified wood and much more. The park also contains more than 130 miles of trails for public use.
