To the damned - glory!
On the initiative of the President of the Republic of Poland, Lech Kaczyński, in 2010, the celebration of the cursed soldiers was adopted. The National Cursed Soldiers Remembrance Day is to be a tribute to the soldiers of the second underground resistance for their bravery, unwavering patriotic attitude and attachment to independence traditions, for blood shed in defense of the Homeland "National Cursed Soldiers Remembrance Day" is celebrated on March 1. It is a particularly symbolic day for the soldiers of the anti-communist underground on that day in 1951 a death sentence was carried out on the leadership of the Freedom and Independence Association "Command"
In the forest next to the town of Jaroszki, there is the grave of a WiN soldier, platoon member Kazimierz Bernatek aka "Wisła", a 22-year-old partisan of Tadeusz Bednarski's "ORLA" unit, who died in the fight against Stalinism on July 13, 1946.
