Probably built in 1577, it overlooks the spectacular panorama of the Bocche di Bonifacio and the entire coast of Corsica.

During the Spanish rule, under Philip II, this tower was built on the promontory of the village from 1587 in what was then Longonsardo. Its main purpose was to ward off pirates and stop smuggling with neighboring Corsica.
The tower was built with granite blocks and has a diameter of 19 meters. It is 11 m high. In the middle of the tower interior, which was originally divided into 3 rooms, there is a mighty column that supports the curved ceiling. On the south-eastern inner wall you can see the preserved well that supplied the crew with rainwater.
