Shugborough Hall and its beautiful gardens are a wonderful place for a pleasant stroll. Their location on the northern fringes of Cannock Chase AONB, means that you can spend a day exploring the great outdoors, before indulging in something slightly more refined, perhaps visiting the Park Farm Cafe or the Mansion Tearoom.

The Hall was home to the Anson family since 1624 and today is the property of the National Trust. There's sweeping parkland, atmospheric pockets of woodland and many monuments adorning the grounds. Colourful flower displays in the formal gardens vie for your time and attention, along with roaming livestock, such as Longhorn cows and Southdown sheep.

Never went inside unfortunately, but the grounds and gardens are worth the visit alone. Historic bridge nearby along with access to the canal, as well as the main parts of Cannock Chase.
