The Causse du Minervois forms a set of very interesting rock-cut Mediterranean habitats. The alternation of siliceous and limestone geological systems reinforces its originality. The small causses are carved with deep gorges by Mediterranean rivers that descend from the foothills of the Montagne Noire.
