Part of a vast expanse of blanket bog, sheltered areas and mountains known as flow country. The RSPB has been managing over 20,000 acres of this important landscape for over 20 years. It's an important habitat for many birds and animals including Greenshanks, Dippers, Golden Plover and Hen Harriers.
The visitor centre and toilets are open every day from 9:00 - 17:00, the nature reserve is always open.

This really is a beautiful place to visit and well worth a detour if you are passing close by. You can walk out to the viewing tower via the boardwalk but keep in mind that there is not a lot of space to pass visitors if you do take your bike with you.
