The cross is a monumental cross that is located in the Sierra Helada. It was placed on the top of the Sierra Helada in the mid-twentieth century, in 1961, on a Catholic mission to rid the city of its reputation as a sinner. With the passage of time it has grown from an evangelical symbol into a monumental tourist icon from where you have a beautiful view over Benidorm. In 1975 a storm made it fly and it was replaced by a new one. It is visible from much of the city.
