Gerri de la Sal is the town that is the head of the municipal area of Baix Pallars, in the region of Pallars Sobirà. It is one of the open sections, exposed to the sun and the wind. The name Sal comes from the salt pans that for many years were the main occupation of the town and that can still be seen to the east of the town!
