Villach is a town on the Drau River in the Austrian state of Carinthia, not far from the borders with Italy and Slovenia. The city is considered the gateway to the nearby Faaker and Ossiach lakes and to the Villach Alps. On the main square, the steeple of the parish church of St. Jakob offers a wide view. Nearby is the Schillerpark with the relief of Carinthia, a large 3D model of the state. Warmbad-Villach with its thermal baths is on the outskirts.
