There are several nice places to rest (some with a table) in front of the hut - with a view of a large, fenced-in clearing.
My inquiry has shown that this cabin can NOT be rented. Here is the statement from the Kaiserslautern forestry office (Waldleiningen forest district):
"Hikers or other forest visitors can use the surrounding area and the anteroom of the hut at any time to rest. The hut itself is locked and is used for company and hunting events."

The Leimen-Sohl hut can be rented; there are double bunk beds in the hut. The outdoor area offers seating and a barbecue area.
