Opened as a museum in 1987, the Tamminiemi villa was the official residence of presidents Ryti, Mannerheim, and Kekkonen, and the scene of many political negotiations and solutions.

Best Tamminiemi Urho Kekkonen's 25-year term in office, when the name Tamminiemi became a concept in Finnish political life and language. Guided tours introduce the historian of Tamminiemi as the official residence of the presidents and especially the time of the house's long-term resident, Urho Kekkonen, in the house. As part of the tour, visitors also get to see Tamminiemi's famous sauna.
