Hiking

There was a time when Brigneau was home to one of the largest canneries in France. In high season, hundreds of sardine boats unloaded their catch so that the 300 employees (mainly women) of the cannery processed the fish and shipped it to the four corners of France. Since the 1970s when the intensification of fishing exhausted the resource, the cannery remains a vague memory of this prosperous era.
