This fifteenth-century fortress is one of the most important testimonies of the history of the Aldobrandeschi family in Manciano.
The Aldobrandeschi in medieval times controlled practically the whole Maremma, they built fortresses throughout the territory. The fortress of Manciano houses the municipal offices, but is open to visitors (with specific times and dates) who can reach the tower and admire a wonderful view of the Tuscan Maremma, the Argentario coast and the Island of Giglio.
