One of the most beautiful factories I have ever visited, at least until now.

In the golden years specialized in the production of chemical fertilizers (and as my grandfather ventured several times in explosives, but that remains to be seen), Ex Sitoco (acronym for Società Interconsorziale Toscana Concimi) is located near the Orbetello train station Stopover. Here too, as at every locked gate in every abandoned place, there is the typical sign: forbidden to enter land in the process of being reclaimed. Reclamation which will have to resolve not only the asbestos issue (white clouds rose at every step...) but also something else...

Excellent example of industrial architecture, with hundreds of scaffolding and beams in ancient and solid wood, 'Y'-shaped columns still intact from the wear and tear of time; the former Sitoco even preserves the train with which the material was moved from one department of the factory to another and machinery of all types and sizes.
