Vrij rondlopende Schotse Hooglanders

Around 50 peaceful and good-natured highland cattle graze here all year round.

We were lucky enough to find many cattle at the same time, some even carrying them

Just don't come in between young and adult animals.

Great experience, because you can see these majestic cattle up close.

The Highlanders are cute as to whether you absolutely have to use them everywhere for grazing in natural areas, as is currently in vogue in NL, the question remains when you complain about the decline in biodiversity, especially of insects.

During our hike they were on the way. We slowly walked past them very calmly. They were then very peaceful.

These Highlanders live free and are relatively tame

Again and again the animals are beautiful.

The scenery along the tour is beautiful. Forest, open spaces and bogs. If you meet the cattle, they will not be disturbed when ruminating and stay relaxed.

Super nice that they walk so close to you.

A beautiful landscape where the cattle have their habitat. They lie around relaxed on / by the paths, stand in the middle of the paths or even cross them. Slalom running is included in this hike. :)
Danger! Keep your eyes open as there are many bark mines lying around.

Unfortunately we only saw them from a distance, but also as a splash in the beautiful landscape it is great to see them

TOP location, definitely worth a visit!

Unfortunately there were no cattle to be seen on our hike because the area is so large that they have many hiding places. But a great area for walking.

Beautiful animals. Unfortunately we were kept at a distance by the ranger.

You get very close to the free-roaming Galloways.
