The collegiate church of Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur is a church located in Sallanches, Inside, trompe-l'oeil paintings by the Piedmontese Casimir Vicario, then finished by his students following his death in 1847. This one he intervened in the cathedrals of Saint-Pierre de Moûtiers and Saint-François-de-Sales de Chambéry, as well as at the castle of the Dukes of Savoy. His work is continued by the painters Giacobini and J.B Ferraris2. The old church was raised to the rank of collegiate by Pope Clement VII on December 2, 13893. Dedicated to Saint Jacques, it obtained a relic (a rib) of the saint. The current building dates from the 17th century. Indeed, on November 20, 1669, a fire affects Sallanches and its houses; he destroyed the church, and it was rebuilt in 16885. The building was listed as a historical monument in 19861. The treasure is presented in a superb walnut cupboard from the 17th century. goldsmithery from the 15th to the 18th century coming mostly from donations from noble parishioners, reverend canons of the Collegiate Church or Sallanchards enriched during their emigration.
