Altstadt Spalt, a hop city with a heart.
More than twelve hundred years of history characterize life in the hopping metropolis of Franconia. A sense of tradition, old walls and impressive half-timbered buildings convey a historical flair. Nice place with many half-timbered houses. Ideal starting point for hikes in the Schnittlinger Loch or in the Massendorfer Schlucht. There is a hop museum (incl. Beer tasting), an ice cream parlor and some restaurants and cafes.

Gap is a pretty little town. If you like lovingly restored buildings and narrow streets, it's worth taking a detour in any case. The efforts of the steep climb are quickly forgotten.
