Altstadt Spalt, a hop city with a heart.
More than twelve hundred years of history characterize life in the hopping metropolis of Franconia. A sense of tradition, old walls and impressive half-timbered buildings convey a historical flair. In the local museum, the craftsmen's rooms and the fire brigade museum, the history of the city comes to life. Around the city extends an ancient cultural landscape with fruit and hop gardens. The city was founded by a Benedictine abbey around the year 800. Historic history towers and gates still bear witness to this eventful history. Explore the historic old town with our city tours.

Nice place with many half-timbered houses. Ideal starting point for hikes in the Schnittlinger Loch or in the Massendorfer Schlucht. There is a hop museum (incl. Beer tasting), an ice cream parlor and some restaurants and cafes.

Gap is a pretty little town. If you like lovingly restored buildings and narrow streets, it's worth taking a detour in any case. The efforts of the steep climb are quickly forgotten.
And the splitter also brew their own tasty beer.
