The Zwartezustersstraat is a street between the Oude Houtlei and Onderbergen, named after the Monastery of the Black Sisters. The part of the street, which has been made car-free since 2015, on the side of the Oude Houtlei, was given the name Alexianenplein.
The Sint-Lucas Institute is located on Alexianenplein in the former Monastery of the Cistercians of Oost-Eecloo. Later the building became a Jesuit residence and since 1833 it has been a campus of the Sint-Lucas art school.
