In 1864, the Battle of Monocacy played out on the rolling farmland along the Monocacy River. It's known as the 'battle that saved Washington'. Six trails lead through the woodlands and fields.

The park is open from 7.30 am until sunset Monday to Friday and from 8.30 am on weekends.
