Genner Strand is located north of the Løjt Land peninsula, inside Genner Bay, about 10 km north of the town of Aabenraa and 17 km south of the town of Haderslev. The area is characterized by quiet, southern Jutland nature consisting of forest, fields and beach. Directly across from Genner Strand is the small, scenic island of Kalvø. A causeway connects the island to the mainland and a marked nature trail circles the island for about 1.5 km.
