The historic tobacco shed in Harthausen was built in 1851 by the Bavarian government at the instigation of the later Prince Regent Luitpold of Bavaria, as a thank you for the loyal attitude of the Harthausen population to the king during the free-democratic revolution of 1848/49.
As targeted economic aid, it served to dry tobacco for the Harthausen farmers for over 120 years.
Restored and redesigned in 1989/90, this recognized cultural monument is the community's cultural meeting point.
