This cave is well signposted and has an interesting history. Jaime el Barbudo was a good-hearted bandit born in 1783 in Crevillente in Alicante who spent most of his life fleeing justice by taking refuge in the caves of the area. The Cave of Excommunication was one of the caves he and his minions hid in.
