The gatehouse of Sjucksmastate has been preserved. It was built in 1616. A stone dated 1668 bearing the Van Harinxma and Van Bothnia family crests can be found in the facade, commemorating former residents Ernst van Harinxma (c. 1562-1631) and Tietke van Botnia (1585-1610).
