The church of San Nicolò at the port of Lazise dates from the 12th century and is one of the few Romanesque churches on Lake Garda that have largely remained in their original state. In the church there are still fresco fragments from the 14th century. Also the location of the small church at the harbor is very nice.

The small church of San Nicolò, a small pre-Romanesque and Romanesque artistic gem of the 12th century, flanks the commercial port and was consecrated by the originals to San Nicolò, the protector of the seafarers. The building was rebuilt several times after fires or subsidence and restored by the city administration in 1953 in memory of all fellow citizens who died in the war. The main entrance door in front of the customs house is surmounted by a veranda and on the lakeshore is the fresco of the Madonna del Popolo. Inside there is an altar, a wooden crucifix from the 15th century, fragments of frescoes mostly from the 14th century. where San Colombano is recognizable. On the opposite wall, the fresco of the breastfeeding Madonna was the central part of a now lost triptych. Source: laelazise.it/comune-lazise-lago-di-garda-visita-lazise
