The view of Wetter's silhouette from the other shore or from the ship is simply beautiful.

Nice, easy-to-ride path along the banks of the Harkortsee. However, it can be busy when the weather is nice.
Some people don't always understand the separation between the footpath and the cycle path. :-)

Wetter (Ruhr) is a medium-sized district town in the southeastern Ruhr area in North Rhine-Westphalia. It belongs to the Ennepe-Ruhr district and is picturesquely situated on the Ruhr, which flows through the urban area and separates the districts of Alt-Wetter, Esborn, Volmarstein and Wengern. The city borders the neighboring towns of Gevelsberg, Hagen, Herdecke, Sprockhövel and Witten. With an area of 31.55 square kilometers and a population of around 26,302 people (as of December 31, 2023), Wetter offers a harmonious mix of urban life and natural surroundings. The city is known for its historical buildings, including the Volmarstein castle ruins from the 11th century and Wetter Castle, which was first mentioned in documents in 1214. These sights testify to the region's rich history. Wetter (Ruhr) is an attractive destination for cyclists and hikers. The proximity to the Ruhr and the surrounding hills of the Ardey Mountains offer a wide range of opportunities for outdoor activities.
