The construction of the Franciscan Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie began in 1611 and ended in 1625.
After numerous events that repeatedly decreed its closure and reopening, it has been operating continuously since 1931, the year in which it was restored, embellished and reactivated by Father Vincenzo Riccio da Siano.
The church houses four altars on each side wall of which three are surmounted by the coat of arms of the Capano family.
The paintings on the altars on the sides of the entrance are of particular importance and are attributed to the Melancholy, a follower of Luca Giordano.
The wooden coffered ceiling, the work of Giuseppe Marrocco da Celso, houses in the center a canvas by M. Cilento, depicting the Assumption.
Finally, the wooden choir of the 18th century, the organ from 1741, the sacristy with a wooden ceiling, a large cabinet from 1772 and a shell-shaped washbasin in carved stone are noteworthy.

Enough as a photo opportunity to take a little detour

It's a shame that we found it closed and a bit shabby
