This one-room cabin was hand-built by Norwegian immigrant John Nelson in 1938. John immigrated from Norway in 1882 at the age of 20 and worked in the logging camps of Lake Superior country for 30 years. He then built this cabin and worked in the fishing business for another 20 years. He died in 1959 after a stroke while dragging a log out of the woods.
