The parking lot is the starting point for most people going to lake O Hara. There is a 11km long street leading from this point to the lake, for which a shuttle bus can be taken. However, you need to sign up beforehand by taking part in a lottery. But even if you don’t get a seat, you can walk the distance.
Going back, the bus first loads all passengers who went up by bus, and if there are seats open, everybody else can board the bus as well. As we did it, everybody was able to board the bus back down and there were still plenty of seats available. The bus is 10 dollars and has to be paid cash.
