This is a great spot to catch your breath and take in the views of the coast. The beach is sandy and water clear. It is a beach that is quiet enough to relax.

Road cycling

At Skinningrove, you are close to the border of North Yorkshire. It is light on facilities here but there is a fish and chip shop and a cafe. The real draw of Skinningrove is Cattersty Sands, a vast expanse of beach just waiting to be explored.

If you approach the village from the direction of Staithes, down Skinningrove Bank Road, there is a great view across the beach and out to sea. Fantastic on a clear day.
