Wichtelbrunnen Spring

The emergence of the Wichtelbrunnenquelle tells a legend:
A mother with her baby wanted to harvest potatoes in the field. She laid her child on the edge while she gathered the potatoes in the field. She didn't hear when her child started crying. On a hill nearby lived elves who were very fond of children. They followed the crying and saw the baby all alone. So they took it to their mountain and were very happy about the child. But at some point they heard a loud cry again. It was the mother, desperately looking for her baby. The elves immediately rushed back and brought her the child. From the many tears of the mother a fountain was formed. This spring is still called Wichtelbrunnenquelle today.A large wooden panel tells the complete story. The Wichtelbrunnen itself is overgrown with algae and not exactly attractive. In addition, the source is right next to the A7.
