Nice place and hut with a great view. Ideal to take a break.

Kyrill was a hurricane (winds from force 12 on the Beaufort scale) that wreaked havoc in large parts of Europe on January 18 and 19, 2007. The storm damage in the entire Langewiesen, Gehren and Oehrenstock region also amounts to around 53,000 cubic meters of damaged wood on around 100 hectares of bare land.

Due to the tree damage, however, the view of the surrounding area has also become free. From the plateau you can comfortably look down to Gehren and over the Sorger ponds to Pennewitz. The view is framed by the back of the Lange Berg on the right and the Großer Tragberg on the left.

The place is spacious and offers, in addition to the hut itself, several seating areas with long tables. In the direction of Langewiesen there is a spider road with the most important reference points on the slope. A small enclosed fireplace is also on site.

Directly behind the hut on the summit of the Gotteskopf (631.8m above sea level) there is a summit cross erected in 2011.

The hut is a welcome change in all seasons and in all weathers, and the view is sure to keep you entertained. The inclined hiker can get to any point in the area via the extensive network of trails.

A clear recommendation for a trip!
