Of medieval origin, this square is one of the nerve centers of the city of Berga, especially for being the scene of the Patum de Berga, a festival declared intangible heritage by UNESCO in 2005.
On the square, you can find the town hall building and the baroque-style parish church of Santa Eulàlia, built on top of the old church of Sant Pere. The square is also known as the burnt square, as it was set on fire in the 17th century by the French.
