Lamberg Castle in Steyr in Upper Austria is located on a high terrace above the confluence of the Steyr and Enns. It arose from the Styraburg, which gave its name to the city of Steyr and the state of Styria.
Today's Lamberg Castle is a baroque castle with an English landscaped park.
The water-spitting dog figure represents the Lambergian heraldic animal. The garden gnomes, which were created in 1720 by the Linz sculptor Johann Baptist Wuntscher, are figures of derision for various estates, peoples, officials and fashions.

The castle has a rich history shaped by the Otakars, the Babenbergs, the Habsburgs, the Napoleonic Wars, the February Battles and World War II. Today the castle is a place for cultural events, weddings and private celebrations. Unfortunately, you cannot stay overnight at Schloss Lamberg, as it is not a hotel but a place for cultural events, weddings and private celebrations. However, there are many other hotels near Schloss Lamberg that you can book online. For example, you can choose the Hotel & Restaurant Minichmayr, which is only 0.2 km from the castle and offers a beautiful view of the old town. Or you can try the Hotel-Restaurant Christkindlwirt, which is 1.8 km from the castle and has a wellness area with sauna and steam bath. Both hotels have received good reviews from other travelers.
