On the southern edge of Murau, on a wooded ridge near Grünfels Castle, rises the slender, tall building of the small Leonhardikirche. It stands on the site of the former castle chapel of St. Catherine and was probably built soon after the St. Anne's Church, in 1439 it is already known as a pilgrimage church.

The soaring hall with net vaulting continues in the long, light-flooded chancel. The large windows have rich tracery, the keystones and corbels are imaginatively decorated. The high altar, pulpit and right side altar were made around 1640. Coats of arms of Anna Neumann, five of her husbands and the imperial princes of Schwarzenberg hang on the parapet of the music gallery. The entire church area is surrounded by a defensive wall, which is adjoined in the west by a staircase to the Holy Sepulcher Chapel, built in 1680. In 1994 and 1995 the church's exterior, richly decorated with artistic stonework, was restored.

Small, very well-preserved Gothic church on a hill on the right bank of the Mur above St. Leonhardplatz. The founder was Niklas von Liechtenstein. Inside the church is a hall with a net vault, large tracery windows, a lavishly decorated early Baroque high altar from the 17th century with Gothic statues and a pulpit from the Baroque period. A spiral staircase leads to a Gothic organ gallery. The Gothic structure of the church itself is made of yellow tuff.
