I remember this section of the Cape Wrath Trail as one of the most beautiful. Up until the ascent, you always stay by the River Carnach, which often ripples over rocks, plus there are beautiful rock formations and extremely wild nature (with trees) that you don't always see in the Highlands. About halfway by a small ruin there is also a beautiful campsite right on the river, which is calm here, opposite a vertical rock face.
