The church, designed by the engineer Ernesto Ganelli, was built starting in 1946, to serve the eastern area of the expanding city.The works went on for five years, at the conclusion of which the consecration took place in the spring of 1951. The religious building immediately began to perform the functions of a parish church for the inhabitants of the area.During the fifties the religious building was further decorated, both inside and outside; since then, a processional banner attributed to Ventura Salimbeni has also found a place, as well as a painting from the deconsecrated church of the Bigi, still kept inside the church.source: wikipedia
