The New Year's Eve Chapel, built around 840 in the Uferpark near Goldbach, is one of the oldest preserved church buildings in Germany. The Carolingian wall paintings are rightly considered the oldest in the Lake Constance area, the Ottonian frescoes are closely related to those in St. Georg auf der Reichenau.
