In the days of the GDR, holidays were also organized centrally, in this case via the FDGB trade union. The decaying building with the emblem shaped the townscape for a long time. The architecture and ambience previously corresponded to the requirements of the Wilhelminian era and the emperor. The “Gasthof zur Ostsee” was built here in 1886, as the smaller components still bear witness to. Today's corner house dates from 1907. The first house on the square now houses holiday apartments.
