This is a nice and leisurely tour that shows you the nature and culture of the region. 😊
The tour is 8.6 km long and has a vertical drop of 76 m. It is rated as easy and does not require any special equipment or physical condition. The tour starts at the Teichstätt wetland, a small lake with a jetty and a shelter. The lake is a habitat for many plants and animals, such as reeds, water lilies, frogs and dragonflies. You follow the path along the lake and then turn left towards Valentinhaft. Valentinhaft is a small town with a church worth seeing that is dedicated to Saint Valentine. The church was built in the 15th century and has a Gothic choir and a Baroque tower. You can visit the church or light a candle.
From Valentinhaft you continue towards Kolming, a hamlet with about 47 inhabitants. On the way you will pass a beautiful vantage point from which you have a view of the Kobernausserwald. The Kobernausserwald is the largest contiguous forest in Austria and a popular hiking and recreation area. You will then reach Kolming, where you can stop at Gasthaus Wirt'z Kolming. The inn is a family-run business with a cozy guest garden and regional cuisine. There you can strengthen yourself or just enjoy the atmosphere.
