Abandoned ENEL Village of Santa Chiara sul Tirso

Location: Ula/Ulà Tirso, Oristano, Sardinia, Italy
Ghost town, which once hosted ENEL employees (and their families, around 450 people) who worked in the nearby Santa Chiara dam.
Once the old hydroelectric power plant adjacent to the dam was decommissioned at the end of the 1980s, the employees asked to be able to buy their own homes and continue to live in Santa Chiara.
When ENEL refused (which preferred to try to sell the entire agglomeration en bloc to a single entity, failing soundly) the village was completely abandoned.
At the blue gate which is located at the end of the road, simply turn right and climb over the wall, no longer protected by any fence, and you can enter the town without problems. The church (and a house museum that I have no idea how to visit) is the only building that has survived abandonment and vandalism, still being used today for occasional celebrations.
The rest of the town (private houses, old cinemas, the municipality, the manor house outside the town) is in a state of complete abandonment, with broken frames, destroyed furnishings, graffiti everywhere, and houses which today are mostly used for airsoft activities by local groups.
