Located between the walls of the old castle and one of the town's granaries, the Patio de Comedias has been carrying out its theatrical activity since 1578.

From an architectural point of view, it is originally made up of four different architectural units: the Almohad castle to the south (12th century), the Brotherhood building to the east (17th century), the Casa de la Labor to the north (19th century) and the Courtyard in the center.

The Patio de Comedias in Torralba de Calatrava is a large architectural complex that offers various spaces adapted to the realization of multiple cultural events. Its versatility is determined by its construction complexity, by the time delay of its conception and by the respect maintained in its restoration. The large patio has a capacity of 320 removable seats.
There are documents that support that in this place plays and puppet shows were held until the end of the 19th century, the first data of theatrical activity in this complex date back to the Renaissance, in 1578. This renovated stage space was declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 2004. In September 2010, it was inaugurated and since then it has had a very consolidated program, especially during the summer months from June to September. Highlights include the Music Cycle and the International Festival of Theater and Puppets that bear its name.
