The Theatrium in Pergamon was built during the Roman Imperial period. It is one of a group of large buildings built around the hill to the west of the lower city, Musalla Mezarlik1. The exact construction date is difficult to determine, but it is believed to have been built in the 2nd century AD.
The construction was probably financed by the Roman authorities or wealthy citizens who supported the theater as part of the city's infrastructure and cultural centers.
