One of the original owners of the castle Parz, Coloman von Oberham (Oberheimer), had the chapel built in 1468. It belonged to the Grundvogtei Parz and went with the change of the owner also in the ownership of the Polheimers and their successors, but soon fell, since it was used for all sorts of purposes, even as a livestock shelter.

About Sigmund von Polheim (1531 - 1598) is reported: "At the height of his castle Parz, he has built a small church or chapels of neum, in which they preached before these common on the day Sigismundi, May 2,".

The chapel used to be the destination of pilgrims from near and far.

The building is late Gothic and has a beautiful ribbed vault and a portal from the same style epoch. The early Baroque altar probably dates from 1658.

Most recently, the chapel was thoroughly renovated by the neighborhood's residents. Also a bell was attached again.
