The monument to Vytautas the Great is nestled among the huts of Bardiškii village, created in 1930, during the construction of the monument to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Vytautas. The idea, as far as old people remember, came from large farmers Juoz and Rozalia Poželas. They discussed with the neighbors that a monument should be built in the village. He promised to allocate land. It was decided to build the monument on Juoz Požela's land, on the other side of the road, almost right in front of their homestead. In total, at that time there were 11 large farmers in Bardiškii who managed 40-70 ha. land On the initiative of the farmers, the bookseller Ignas Lapinskas found the sculptor Antanas Nesavas, and he built the monument that stands to this day.
