This railway bridge belongs to the single-track line to Bad Segeberg. The Trave hiking trail was created in 1961. It begins in Oldesloe and ends after only 4km at the height of Kneeden. Two footbridges allow a crossing to the right bank of the Trave: next to the railway bridge, a newly built footbridge leads over to the Schanzenbarg district, thus opening up a detour to Rethwischhof. The second bridge near the old Trave arm leads over to Sehmsdorf, where on the right of the Trave you can follow the old school path to Meddewade.
