Czarnoszyce is a former Kashubian village (Kashubian Czôrnoszëcé) located in the Człuchów poviat in the south of the Pomeranian Voivodeship. This town is now the seat of the village council, which also includes Czarnoszki. Even before World War II, 300 people lived in this village - they were mainly German families who were settled here between 1920 and 1924 in connection with the creation of the Polish state, whose border ran nearby. Nevertheless, Bergelau, because that was the German-language name of Czarnoszyce, was the property of a Polish nobleman. Most of the wooden houses burned down as a result of the shelling of Chojnice in the last year of World War II.
